Does the polyurethane high-pressure foaming injection machine need to be cleaned with solvent before it can complete foaming?

Industry news-

No! The biggest highlight of the polyurethane high-pressure foaming injection machine is the "automatic gun cleaning". Unlike traditional low-pressure machines, you don't have to use dichloromethane and other solvents to clean the machine every time you finish foaming. It is trouble-free and environmentally friendly. The principle behind this is like an "automatic dishwasher" - there is a large piston inside the mixing head. After each injection of the raw materials, the large piston will "clang" and push the remaining foam in the mixing chamber directly out, while cutting off the return pipe to allow the raw materials to circulate back to the tank. This design allows the machine to drain the residue by itself, and there is no need to manually use chemical solvents to soak and clean the mixing head.
However, it should be noted that the "no solvent cleaning" mentioned here refers to routine operations in daily production. If you encounter special circumstances, such as long-term shutdown or changing the raw material formula, you still need to use a special cleaning agent (such as DOP) to thoroughly flush the pipes and tanks. Let's take a specific example: suppose a factory has to produce car seat foam for a week. When changing shifts every day, it only needs to press a few buttons to let the machine self-clean. But if it wants to change to produce products with different formulas such as refrigerator insulation at the end of the month, it has to add cleaning agent to the material tank and circulate it for half an hour to completely wash away the remaining raw materials. This deep cleaning is very rare, usually only required once every few months.
Compared with traditional low-pressure machines, the mixing head of the low-pressure machine is like an old-fashioned blender. Every time it is used, it will stick with a layer of solidified foam. Workers have to remove it and soak it in dichloromethane, which is time-consuming and produces a pungent odor. If it is not done well, it will corrode the sealing ring. The self-cleaning function of the high-pressure machine not only protects the health of workers, but also saves the cost of buying cleaning agents. In the long run, it can save 30% of maintenance costs. Just like using a non-stick pan to cook without scrubbing the bottom of the pan, the high-pressure foaming machine uses technology to make production smarter and cleaner.
